Before safety-critical software can be released, it needs to thorougly tested since undetected errors could lead to serious injury of the user and people in the vicinity of the product. The goal of the tool GoogleTest is to facilitate and automate testing of software. Therefore, the outputs of this tool are highly critical to determine if the software is fit to be released. To ensure that GoogleTest(Gtest) produces correct and reliable results in your environment, Validas developed the Gtest Qualification Kit (QKit).

The aim of the Gtest QKit (see flyer) is the qualification of Gtest in your production environment. It’s owned, regularily extended and maintained by Validas AG. It covers the majority of the functionality of Gtest and is designed to be easily adapted or extended to fit your configuration. Based on the qualification, it can generate standard-compliant safety documentation to prove Gtest works as intended and is fit to be used in your safety-critical environment.

In the qualification process, Validas offers to assist you with the extension of the Qkit, the test analysis as well as producing the correct documentation according to the safety standards ISO 26262, IEC 61508 and DO-330 (Level 5). This enables you to focus on development and your business goals.

Depending on the usage of Gtest in your project and your company, Validas also offers a single qualification of Gtest in the Validas environment. With this approach you save the resources of installation of the QKit in your environment. If necessary, Validas also offers to extend the test suite to fit your needs.
